The Morris Family Advised Fund today announced its latest round of grants for various deserving Central New York organizations and initiatives. The support is in response to grant applications received following the Fund’s introduction in the Spring of 2026 and aligns with the Morris family’s mission of providing financial assistance for “initiatives that promote healthcare initiatives and educational opportunity — particularly for children and young people.”
Organizations and initiatives that have received grants at this time include:
- CBA Summer Program: CBA’s summer program seeks to reduce barriers and bridge educational gaps with experiential and hands-on learning. Funding from the Morris Family Advised Fund will support the Bridge 2 CBA Brothers summer program, a four-week program featuring academic, athletic, and fine arts immersion and real-life experiences. Each week will focus on a theme integrated across all subject areas, leading to a final, culminating project that incorporates Music, Art, Robotics, Life Science, Rockets, and Materials Engineering.
- Salvation Army Early Childhood Education Child Care Fund: This grant will help provide support to needy families, by expanding the number of slots available for safe, affordable childcare from the Salvation Army.
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse: A Morris grant will support a program entitled “Triple Play Program: A Game Plan for Mind, Body and Soul.” This impactful, evidence-based program will be offered to Syracuse youth ages 6-18, allowing them to benefit from physical activity, nutrition education, and emotional wellness. The program is a nationally recognized health and wellness initiative developed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
- Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Alliance: As the incidence and complexity of these diseases continues to rise across New York State, this organization serves as a critical bridge between public health guidance and community-level action. Funding from the Morris Family Advised Fund will support meaningful outcomes in awareness, behavior change, and prevention.
- Oswego Health Foundation: As the only Hospital and Emergency Department serving Oswego County, Oswego Health serves as the primary point of care for pediatric patients facing acute mental health emergencies. Because there is no local in-patient psych unit, children often wait for placement (which can take days or even weeks) and can remain in the emergency department (ED), an environment not designed to meet the unique emotional, developmental, and safety needs of the pediatric patients. The Morris Family Advised Fund will support a renovation focused on creating a dedicated, pediatric behavioral health treatment area in the ED.
- Brian’s Kids: This grant will support children being treated at The Waters Center for Blood and Cancer Disorders at Golisano Children’s Hospital. More specifically, funding will provide gas and food cards for kids and families being treated at the Center.
- Live Like Liam: This grant will support families who need assistance for food or gas cards, which, in turn, will enable them to more readily and easily receive access to treatment at local hospitals.
- Syracuse City School District Foundation: With this grant, the Morris Family Advised Fund will support small, one-time funding requests for student projects that are otherwise unfunded, e.g.: paying for indoor facilities and athletic activities during winter months or for a student-run podcast on healthy habits.
- Multiple Sclerosis Resources of CNY: Here, a Morris Family Advised Fund grant will help fund a Cooling Program, and more specifically the purchase of air conditioners and cooling vests for people with MS who can experience heat sensitivity during the summer months.
- Restore CNY: With this grant, the Morris Family Advised Fund will support Restore CNY’s six-week summer camp for 300 children. Restore CNY serves communities across Central New York, with programming based in Central Square. The organization’s services primarily reach rural and under-served populations with limited access to affordable enrichment, recreation, and support programs. This support is especially needed given the high rates of poverty in the region, and because many working parents utilize this summer camp as way to achieve support services for their children.
- Hiscock Legal Aid Society: In this case, the Morris Family Advised Fund’s support will help enable the Society’s Immigration Program to offer direct, flexible, and high-impact assistance with translation and interpretation services, as well as application-fee assistance for low-income immigrants in the counties served by the program.
- Amlima Youth Soccer: This grant provides assistance to Amlima FC, a competitive, Syracuse-based soccer organization that fields teams in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). The organization runs a youth-development program focused on children from low-income families, including refugee and immigrant families who would otherwise not have access to higher-level organized sports programs.
