Syracuse, N.Y. — Jamesville-DeWitt graduate and Central New York donor Rob Morris is inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply for grants from a new $10 million fund.
The Morris Family Advised Fund, which previously operated privately, is now allowing nonprofit organizations across Central New York to apply for funding.
Morris has already awarded grants to three organizations: Erin’s Angels of Central New York, the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation and PGA Reach Central New York. Those groups address issues affecting youth, including food insecurity, cancer support and access to sports education.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for as long as funding is available, Morris told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard. Morris said he will replenish the fund if he sees a noticeable impact on community organizations.
Morris is a former DeWitt resident. He now lives in Connecticut and is the chairman and CEO of Olympus Partners, a private equity firm. In recent years, Morris has donated money to Syracuse-area projects, including $1 million to the Syracuse Challenger baseball for its Field of Dreams.
