Morris Family Advised Fund Announces Support of Two Specialized Housing Initiatives In Syracuse.

The fund will Provide Grants to A Tiny Home for Good and Joseph’s House for Women

The Morris Family Advised Fund today announced it will provide financial support to two specialized, sorely needed housing initiatives in Syracuse, NY.

The first project, spearheaded by A Tiny Home for Good, is the Bishop Avenue Housing Initiative, a new permanent supportive housing development that will provide six affordable homes for individuals transitioning out of homelessness in Onondaga County. More than housing, this initiative will provide residents with the stability, safety, and ongoing support needed to improve health outcomes, rebuild relationships, and move forward with dignity. The Morris Family Fund is supporting the construction of one of the six houses that will be built in the City of Syracuse.

The second initiative, Joseph’s House for Women, is the only service in CNY providing residential, long-term care for women in crisis pregnancy and their children that is rooted in the Catholic faith. This organization provides a comprehensive approach that seeks to support women through the phases of stabilization, skill development, establishing their full potential, and attaining sustainable independence. The Joseph’s House for Women campus, which is over two acres, offers a 40,000 square foot building, a large private green space, and includes two transitional apartments for women formerly in the residential program — along with another transitional apartment (opening in early summer 2026), which will house two to four women and their children. Morris Family Fund has made a grant to support the residential program.
